چکیده
Abstract Background Telmisartan is a non-peptide angiotensin II receptor antagonist which acts by ACE/AngII/AT1 axis blockade (ARB). In the last years increasing evidence of its metabolic benefits pointed out this drug as most promising ARB for nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) treatment. The aim present study was to investigate effect on treating NAFLD in mice fed with high-fat diet evaluating gene modulation. Twenty-four male were divided into four groups and 60 days standard (ST), plus TEL (ST+TEL 5 mg/kg/day gavage 4 weeks), (HFD), or (HFD+TEL weeks). Body weight, lipid profile, insulin, alanine transaminase, aspartate aminotransferase evaluated. Liver histology analyzed. US imaging performed access dimension echogenicity also epididymal fat pad thickness. expression proinflammatory resistin/TRL4/MYD88 pathway Results main findings showed that reduced resistin, TRL4, Myd88 HFD + group when compared obese control (HFD). Decreased hepatic steatosis demonstrated measurements longitudinal observed. addition, adipose thickness, body transaminases, improved glucose tolerance test HDL cholesterol. Conclusions We observed treatment metabolism, decreasing NAFLD. Graphical improves profile

Artemisia annua Leaf Extract Attenuates Hepatic Steatosis and Inflammation in High-Fat Diet-Fed Mice
Artemisia annua L. (AA) is a well-known source of the antimalarial drug artemisinin. AA also has an antibacterial and antioxidant activity. However, the effect of AA extract on hepatic steatosis induced by obesity is unclear. We investigated whether AA extract prevents obesity-induced insulin resistance and hepatic steatosis in high-fat diet (HFD)-fed mice. Mice were randomly divided into group...

Angiotensin II type 1 receptor blockade attenuates in-stent restenosis by inhibiting inflammation and progenitor cells.
The precise mechanism by which angiotensin II type 1 receptor blocker reduces in-stent restenosis in clinical trials is unclear. We, therefore, investigated the mechanism of in-stent neointima formation. Male cynomolgus monkeys and rabbits were fed a high-cholesterol diet and were allocated to untreated control and type 1 receptor blocker groups. Five days after grouping, multilink stents were ...
متن کاملBlockade of Central Angiotensin II AT1 Receptor Protects the Brain from Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury in Normotensive Rats
Background: Stroke is the third leading cause of invalidism and death in industrialized countries. There are conflicting reports about the effects of Angiotensin II on ischemia-reperfusion brain injuries and most data have come from chronic hypertensive rats. In this study, hypotensive and non-hypotensive doses of candesartan were used to investigate the effects of angiotensin II AT1 receptor b...
متن کاملEffect of angiotensin II type 1 receptor blockade on cardiac remodeling in angiotensin II type 2 receptor null mice.
To clarify the possible involvement of uninhibited angiotensin II (Ang II) type 2 (AT(2)) receptor stimulation in the effects of an Ang II type 1 (AT(1)) receptor blocker, valsartan, we examined the cardiovascular remodeling induced by aortic banding with the use of wild-type (Agtr2+) and AT(2) receptor null (Agtr2-) mice. Aortic banding caused cardiac hypertrophy in Agtr2+ and Agtr2- mice to a...
